The Privateer Classic. A one pick up tone machine that punches well about its very modest weight!

Body : The classic benefits from a light weight 2pc obeche body. Every obeche body hand selected and has to pass our tone tap test, as well as meet our strict weight requirements.
Neck : Once again we use 2 pieces of obeche that have to pass the same tests as the body. There’s no ‘dead’ wood in these guitars. The neck is also reinforced with carbon rods along side the truss rod.

Fingerboard : A choice of Indian rosewood or African Ebony, either one is a classic..
Headstock Veneer : This is ebony, why? Because it’s a class touch. Some companies use black fibre, others prefer to paint holly, but we prefer a good piece of ebony.
Nut : Black Corian.
Frets : As standard we use the Dunlop 6105, but if you’d prefer 6000 or 6100, we’ll happily put that in for you. The ‘Standard’ comes with 22 frets but is available with a 24 fret option if need it.
Scale Length : 25″ – it’s short enough to add a little extra roundness in your tone, but also long enough to to retain a tight bottom and not have your low ‘E’ flapping around like a rusty gate in the wind.

Pick Ups : You can select from any Humbucker, Soapbar P90 or Dog Ear P90 from Mojo Pick Ups or Sunbear Pickups .
Electronics : Volume comes as standard but the tone pot is always optional. If you choose a hum bucker, then you also have the option for a push pull pot for either coil split or parallel options.
Knobs & Surrounds : We’ve chosen to the Anomaly knobs and modern surrounds (for humbuckers) to round off the modern look of the Privateer. After all, is there anything worse than buying a high end guitar and it coming with cheap knobs or surrounds?!

Machine Heads : Grover kidney bean, for that classic look
Bridge : ‘Golden Age’ wrap over, full intonatable bridge, so even if you change string gauge, you won’t go out of tune.

Finish : This is where you can really make a statement with your Privateer. All Privateer Classic’s come fully painted, you can have a traditional pastel colour, in a nitro finish that will check and age, or you can have a shiny metallic fade – just let us know the 2 colours you want, finished in a gloss that will stay shiny for years to come.
